I know it has been five and a half months since I published a personal post. Having always wanted to keep my blog cheerful and upbeat, I didn't feel like I could do that during that time. We've had a lot of ups and downs the past few months. Since I have made several good friends through blogging, I did want to give you a heads up on our life.
We've had a cancer scare with one of the kids, illnesses, a radical change in diet because of health problems and more. The girls are finishing their senior year of high school and to the great surprise of my husband and myself, my daughter decided to join the Navy. She will still be pursuing her medical degree, thank goodness!
The spare kid is going away to a college honors program in a different state where she "thinks" she will study marketing.
I can't even find a photo more recent than February since my daughter got her own laptop and began uploading her photos to it instead of mine.
Our lives will also take another turn this fall. My son is going back to school, bringing our homeschooling days to an end. I am planning to go back to school as well, and possibly pursue those dreams of traveling!
I had planned to write this as a farewell post but can't bring myself to do it. I do want to come back to my blog but am unable to devote a lot of time to it presently.
Hopefully when our lives settle down a bit, I will be able to return to full time blogging on Mom's Mutterings. Until then, I miss you, bloggy buddies!

You've been missed. I hope that you'll write a day on your calendar every month to stop in and say hello and give all an update.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have often thought of you these past months. The Navy! Wow. I am sorry things have been rough lately but it sure is good to hear from you.
ReplyDeleteYou have been missed and I have thought about you several times. Thank you for the update...that is a lot of change but I hope even if you don't feel as though you can keep your blog updated often that you will still keep it.
ReplyDeleteP.S. My daughter NEEDS that gansta shirt!
ReplyDeleteDONT FRET WE WILL ALL STILL BE HERE. i WAS GONE FOR NEARLY A YEAR WITH ONLY AN OCCASIONAL POST AND MANAGED TO RETAIN MOST OF MY FOLLOWERS...AND THEY STILL COMMENT WHEN I DO POST! HOPE ALL GETS BETTER, WE LOVE YOU AND ARE PRAYING FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear from you! How scary! Hope things continue to look better. Sounds like new adventures are finding you and your family. {{hugs}}
ReplyDeleteGoodness it sounds like you've been on a real rollercoaster - and most of it scary stuff. Do try and keep in touch; we miss you. Meow to your family and hope this next half a year brings you everything good.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear things have been rough lately! Congrats to your daughter on her decision to join the Navy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update Pam. I pray that God would give you the needed strength and empowerment in this season of your life. Love you. Jenn
ReplyDeleteI actually have thought about you over the months Pam! Sorry to read about the cancer scare...not something we want anyone to go through. It seems like you life has been very busy, but I agree with others...don't say farewell...just hop on when you can and we will still be here.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking a lot about you recently and am so glad you've posted an update. I figured things weren't good, but that only made me pray that God would help you. Changes come, sometimes they are easy to embrace and other times they violate our peace and comfort. May you know God's love and care in all your changes and I hope you will manage to blog a bit in the future. I've missed you!

Missed you, and so sorry to hear that things have been rough lately. How exciting that your daughter decided to join the Navy! And good luck to you and your son for going back to school! Hope everything turns works for the best, and I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. *hugs*
ReplyDeleteYes I still think of you and check to see if you have posted...
ReplyDeleteYour life has indeed taken some turns. I so understand not blogging and missing it at the same time. Do put up a note now and then.
I have to say I envy you going back to school! Its on my list in 3 years when the youngest is done.
We are / were a navy family. Good place for her to gain experience and education..esp in the medical field. Perhaps she will even be here in Tidewater. They have a great medical program here.
Praying for you and all these transitions. Bitter sweet!
I have not posted much and am in the middle of a medical crisis in our home. It just saps my creative juices. Blessings Tina at Morningstar
