For seventeen years I have bought cute outfits for the kids and not myself. When family members would give me money for my birthday or Christmas, they'd inform me, "Spend this on you and not the kids!"

I did have a lovely work wardrobe which always garnered compliments. When I quit I relaxed my standards to casual clothes and explained I didn't need as many new clothes. As I have began to work part time outside the home again, I felt a need to "step up my wardrobe."

It's easy to enter! She asks readers to send her a photo of yourself, wearing your favorite clothing and accessories from DownEast! The rules are simple:

o Go for a layered fall look
o Be creative and show your best style
